It is not as simple as a good pressure washing and sealer application. Chemical stripping applications are messy and harmful to plants, pets, building materials, and us. Over time the sealer fades and/or delaminates. This exposes the bare matte colors of the slab. The tricky part is the wearing of the sealer doesn’t happen uniformly. Some areas dissolve quickly, while others are more stubborn. Washing and sealing on top of stubborn spots of sealer will not last, and you will have to repeat the process continually. SCM OUTDOOR uses sandblasting to strip away that stubborn sealer and establish a clean, debris free canvas to work with. Once the slab has been stripped, we apply a new coating of antique to restore the texture contrast and give it the natural appearance of stamped concrete. After adequate dry time, we apply the necessary amount of sealer coatings to protect and bring out that depth and vibrants you chose stamped concrete for in the beginning.
